XXI century will go down in the history of humankind as the age of biotechnologies. The reasoning behind this trend is obvious, and it further highlights current priorities in the development of agriculture.

Application of biotechnological products offers a unique solution in a variety of situations where the use of other agents is impossible; in certain cases, it appears as an ecological alternative to health-threatening and environmentally hostile chemicals. More important, it always aims at obtaining top yields and maximizing safety to humans, plants, and nature. Bioproducts make it possible:

to protect plants against pests and diseases resistant to chemicals;
to eliminate effects of pesticide-induced stress;
to increase soil fertility and crop quality;
to improve production efficiency.

The manufacturing facility of Biona Group was founded in 1954.

The Group entered the Russian market in 2000 and became an industry leader in ten years (a status we have been enjoying ever since). In 2012, Biona Group has received an authorization from the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia to market its product Nitrofix as an inoculant for soybeans; today, it is a sales hit on the Russian market of inoculants.

The range of products for plant growing comprises bioprotectors against diseases and pests, microbial inoculants, biological seed treatments, and biofertilizers. We have products and technological solutions implemented in the production schemes of soybean, wheat, corn, sunflower, sugar beet, and other crops. Biona has developed a full range of products and technology for berries and greenhouse production of vegetables.

Products for animal husbandry include biological feed additives, antivirals, and probiotics (preserving feed and ensuring productivity of livestock and poultry).

Biona has also developed a line of products for wastewater treatment and recovery / recycling of household and industrial waste. Implementation of biotechnology-based products and technological solutions for environmental problems is one of our strategic avenues of development.

Biona's production facilities are ISO 9001-certified and equipped with state-of-the-art process machinery. Our staff comprises highly professional specialists with expertise in biotechnology, process engineering, microbiology, agronomy, and soil science. Products manufactured by Biona have been IMO-certified as meeting EU standards of organic equivalence (i.e., complying with EC Regulations 834/2007 and 889/2008, adapted for non-EU countries).
